My New Book

I am about to start reading “Thirteen Reasons Why” by Jay Asher. The story is told by a young boy named Clay Jensen and he has a crush on a girl named Hannah Baker. Clay comes home one day to find a box of tapes that Hannah left for him. Hannah is dead and the tapes contain her thirteen reasons why and Clay is about to find out that he is one of them.

I had a couple books to read before I read this one so I lent it to a friend because I was telling her about it and she wanted to read it. She said that is was really depressing, but really good at the same time. I am very excited to begin reading it.

PREDICTIONS
When I think about it, I have a feeling that it is one of those situations where a boy likes a girl, but the girl wants nothing to do with the boy. I don’t think that Clay is going to be the main reason why Hannah is dead or anything but maybe something that Clay said or did could have just influenced Hannah’s decision to commit suicide.

Another option could be that Hannah had an even bigger crush on Clay than Clay had on her. Maybe she thought Clay didn’t like her at all and she was feeling scared and alone. That is the reason some people commit suicide, because they don’t think the person that they love, loves them back.

  1. All i can say is WOW!!! this book sounds like an amazing story.. and i would like to read it when your done if you dont mind.. I agree with your statement that some people commit suicide because they think people dont like them. In a way i think we can understand how they feel... I feel that it is important to try and make evryone feel involved than maybe they will fell less alone.. I also know that parents can also be a huge factor when people commit suicide.. I once knew this girl who commited suicide because she felt she wasnt perfect enough for her family.. I also think when things like suicide happen you need to be supportive for family cause its hard, harder than when you just loose someone.. i think this because you feel like its your fault if you would have talked to the person more or invited them to do stuff more often or simply just told them how much you just enjoy having them in your life might help.. but telling someone its their fault is not the way to go you might push them into suicide as well.. but ummm i think this is super long so i think ill quit haha lol... but i totally wanna borrow this if its ok??

  2. It is amazing! Have you finished the book yet? I want to know what you think of it. How did it make you feel? What do you think the authors purpose was for writing a book like this?
