Living Dead Girl #2

I have been waiting for something bad to happen to Alice. Waiting for Ray to hurt her so bad that she needs to be taken to the emergency room. Ray does so many horrible things to Alice, but none of it is his fault. When Alice is bad, she makes him do these things that hurt her and that he claims he doesn’t want to do. He thinks all girls should be loved and taken care of, yet he still feels ok with stabbing a knife into her shoulder.

Once I read farther into the book I found out that Alice was ten when she was taken by Ray and that was five years ago. So she is fifteen right now and showing Ray how much she loves him in ways that no fifteen year old girl should. She is also being shown how much she is loved in a way that nobody should ever show a fifteen year old girl. It’s a story about physical, verbal, and sexual abuse that is incredibly appalling.

I have 30 pages left to go and I am determined to finish them all today. Shouldn’t be too hard since some of the pages are just a few words or sentences.

In the last half of the book Alice talks about how Ray doesn’t like cops. She describes a past situation where a cop came to the house and when he left, Ray was behind the door holding Alice tight to his body with a knife at her throat. Your mind just wanders when you hear something like that. What if he had actually cut her? What if she had grabbed the knife out of Ray’s hands and stabbed him? She would always have the memories but would she be safe? Would her family at 623 Daisy Lane be safe? I stopped reading and started writing this blog once I finished chapter 51. Ray is taking Alice to the hospital. He says he doesn’t like to inflict pain on the people he loves, yet he does. He wants Alice to always remember the pain of the knife when ever she is being bad in the future. He stabs her with the knife putting her out of her misery of being with him. He makes her think that it’s all over and she won’t have to put up with him anymore. And then he saves her, just when she thinks she is free, but she is still the living dead girl.
